At the heart of Embea, an innovative insurance startup, is a bold, cohesive brand identity designed to disrupt the traditional insurance landscape. Ella has worked for Embea since day one to create the full-scale design system, spanning multiple platforms, and to create marketing assets that speak directly to their modern, tech-savvy audience. From the initial concept to a fully realized brand, the goal was to craft a seamless experience that embodies trust, innovation, and accessibility.
This project also included the development of a fully responsive Webflow website, brand collateral, and a comprehensive visual language that aligns with Embea’s mission. The result is a flexible, scalable design system that not only enhances their digital presence but also empowers the brand to grow while staying true to its core values.
The numbers prove that we should be designing for the mobile-user as priority. That means designing directly into the mobile Figma app live, immediate prototype testing, fast load times and a generous click area allowance for us chubby-fingered humans. Ella exports all imagery as progressive to reduce the file size, while favouring SVG as often as possible. And creates custom icon typefaces instead of individual SVG files with the colours baked in – this way, devs can override for icon states without searching for the individual assets.
With Figma’s release of variables, Ella has already pushed the limits by creating realistic prototypes to simulate a real insurance checkout. And leveraging the Variable Modes, is able to toggle instantly between breakpoint, language, and partner UI branding. An absolute game-changer in testing and time efficiency for the start-up.
